Program Description Live from Licoln Center's telecast of the New York City Opera 1990 production, directed by Scott Ellis, of Stephen Sondheim's sublime 1975 Broadway musical A Little Night Music , based on Ingmar Bergman's film Smiles of a Summer Night - well produced, staged, sung and performed, and a blessing that this production was recorded when the only other version is Harold Prince's earlier unsucessful film. Sally Ann Howes (Julie Andres' replacement in My Fair Lady , star of Brigadoon and Wht Makes Sammy Run on Broadway, Brigadoon with Robert Goulet on tv, the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang , and most recently in James Joyce's The Dead on Broadway) heads the cast as Desiree Armfeldt, George Lee Andrews as Frederik Egerman, famed opera mezzo Regina Resnik as Madame Armfeldt, Beverly Lambert as Anne Egerman, Kevin Anderson as Henrik Egerman, Maureen Moore as Countess Charlotte Malcolm, Michael Maguire as Count Carl Magnus Malcolm, Susan Terry as the maid Petra, and Danielle Ferland as Fredricka Armfeldt.
Item Condition DVD audio and picture are in very good condition (please see images).
Disc Format NTSC Region 1 DVD-R. Discs come labeled by Light-Scribe in paper sleeve with no artwork.
