If you want your KKK tokens in GREAT CONDITION, this
one is REALLY NICE!
I have several of these, all in near mint condition.
In the Ku Klux Klan Token book by Birdsell listed as KK-228.
Reverse: Hooded and Robed Klansman on horseback at center
with fiery torch.
"Knights of Ku Klux Klan / Realm of Ohio".
Obverse has Standing woman beside a branch on the left,
holding a laurel wreath in her other extended hand.
"Ohio 1928 I Was There". Probably sold to
attendees of the 1928 national Klonvokation (Klan meeting) in
Ohio.
At lower left marked
"Whitehead & Hoag" in tiny letters. These have
been reproduced, and on the fakes, the W&H letters are tiny
blobs, as they are too small to copy!
This is from a small hoard originally from Ohio, obviously
never circulated! NOTE the strong features, with basically NO
WEAR. But, rather than call them Uncirculated, I will say
"Extremely Fine/About Uncirculated", some with minor toning, minor
spots, and/or partial fingerprints.
