This is a gentle guide for staying conscious in how we relate to one another. All of us can fall prey to habit, start to take things for granted, or act in ways we don't really intend to. Routine often robs us of our spontaneity. Occasionally we get bogged down with problems. These cards were designed to be little "wake-up calls" to help you keep things clear, reawaken flexibility and discover positive options you are not currently seeing.

It is best if you have a specific question to ask the Advisor. If you don't have a specific question, that's okay too. Many people just want to explore or be educated in general — and so they let the Advisor itself provide the topic of focus.

If you are going to ask a question, it is important how you formulate it. Some questions empower you. Others only distract you from finding a useful answer.

Examples of Good Questions

• "What would bring greater joy to my relationship?"
• "What part am I playing in this challenge?"
• "What quality would prepare me for the love of my life?"
• "What can I notice in order to move forward?"
• "What do I need to know to attract my soulmate?"
• "What can I do to resolve what upsets me?"
• "What factors are involved in this situation?"
• "What would support me in being more loving?"
• "What do I need to be aware of when we next talk?"
• "What could help me handle this situation better?"
• "What should I consider before making up my mind?"

Examples of Poor Questions

• "Why is she always complaining?"
• "What is his problem?"
• "What is she really feeling?"
• "How can I get him to change?"

Stay away from questions that focus on the other person. Formulate your question so that its answer applies to you. Make your question open and broad enough to let in new possibilities.

If you and your partner are ordering a reading together, formulate a question as a couple — so that you mutually agree on what you are exploring. Let your question apply to the two of you together.
