Halloween
The first flick in the trilogy from director John Carpenter,
Halloween almost single-handedly invented the 1980s slasher genre.
Escaped lunatic Michael Myers (no, not the Austin Powers actor)
goes on a murderous baby-sitter-slaying rampage on Halloween. Only
baby sitter Jamie Lee Curtis (the quintessential scream queen) and
psychiatrist Donald Pleasence can stop him.
Halloween 2
This bloodier sequel picks up where the original ended. An
injured Jamie Lee Curtis recuperates in the hospital not knowing
that murderous Michael Myers is licking his wounds in a nearby
room. The hospital setting makes for spooky sequences with Myers'
slow footsteps echoing loudly on the tile floor. The diagnosis for
impressionable viewers: long nights of insomnia.
Halloween 3-Season of the Witch
Dr. Daniel Challis (Tom Atkins) and Ellie Grimbridge (Stacey
Nelkin) stumble onto a series of gruesome murders when her novelty
salesman father, Conal Cochran (Dan O'Herlihy), is killed. Cochran
is a demented toymaker who wants to return the holiday to its
darker roots using his Silver Shamrock masks. His unspeakable
scheme will unleash death and destruction across the country,
unless Challis can stop him in time.
Halloween 4-The Return of Michael Myers
The legend of that creepy masked-man, Michael Myers (George
P. Wilbur), comes to life once again in this fourth installment of
the successful horror franchise. This time, it's Michael's niece,
Jamie (Danielle Harris), who can't seem to escape her crazy uncle.
With Michael on the loose, Jamie enlists the help of good, old Dr.
Loomis (Donald Pleasence) to stop the murderer. This time, though,
there seems to be no end to Michael's madness.
Halloween 5-The Revenge of Michael Myers
Presumed dead after a shoot-out with the Haddonfield police,
Michael Myers (Don Shanks) is secretly nursed back to health -- and
returns a year later to kill again. He once more targets his young
niece, Jamie (Danielle Harris), who's recovering in the local
children's hospital after attacking her stepmother and losing her
voice. Jamie's mental link with her evil uncle may be the key to
uprooting her family tree.
Halloween 6-The Curse of Michael Myers
The crazed serial killer returns from the dead in this
splatter-fest sequel. After Michael Myers' niece gives birth, she
turns the baby over to Tommy Doyle (Paul Rudd) to save the child
from Michael. Living in the Myers' former home with the Strodes,
Tommy suspects that the evil force that drove Michael to murder now
curses young Danny Strode (Devin Gardner). Can Tommy -- with help
from Michael's nemesis (Donald Pleasence) -- end the madness?
Halloween H20
It's the first reunion in 20 years for two estranged
siblings: former baby-sitter Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and
her brother, crazed slasher Michael Myers. With a witty script, a
great cast (including LL Cool J and Michelle Williams) and Curtis's
return to the role that made her a scream queen, Halloween: H20 is
the final chapter in a legendary tale.
Halloween Resurrection
In director Rick Rosenthal's second Halloween movie, Michael
Myers (Brad Loree) proves to his sister Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis)
that he isn't dead, while TV producer Freddie Harris (Busta Rhymes)
launches a reality show set in Michael's childhood home. Freddie
and his girlfriend (Tyra Banks) arrange for six college kids to
spend a night in the killer's former haunt, but they get more than
they bargained for when Michael decides to join them.
Friday the 13th
Twenty years after a drowning and a pair of murders shut it
down, Camp Crystal Lake is reopening -- against the better judgment
of skeptical locals. The new owner (Peter Brouwer) scoffs at the
camp's "death curse," but when the teenage counselors start to
drop, he begins to reconsider. Gruesome makeup and effects, a
nubile cast (including a young Kevin Bacon) and a psycho-killer for
the ages (in Jason) make this a slasher classic.
Friday the 13th Part 2
Five years after the horrible bloodbath at Camp Crystal Lake,
it seems Jason Voorhees and his demented mother are in the past.
Paul (John Furey) opens up a new camp close to the infamous site,
ignoring warnings to stay away, and a sexually-charged group of
counselors follow -- including child psychologist major Ginny (Amy
Steel). But Jason has been hiding out all this time, and now he's
ready for revenge.
Friday the 13th Part 3
An idyllic summer in the woods turns into an unyielding
nightmare of unspeakable terror for yet another group of sexually
frustrated camp counselors. With the maniacal Jason Voorhees
(Richard Brooker) lurking in every corner, the teens drop off one
by one, falling victim to Camp Crystal Lake's bloody legacy.
Originally presented in 3D, the film hits the audience with plenty
of gruesome objects -- including knives, pitchforks and
eyeballs.
Friday the 13th Part 4:The Final Chapter
Hockey-masked psychopath Jason Vorhees (Ted White) is back in
business at Camp Crystal Lake in the fourth (but far from final)
installment of the popular, long-running horror series. As randy
teens are slain one by one, Tommy (Corey Feldman) comes up with a
plan to distract the killer. Makeup master Tom Savini provides much
of the gore, and actor Crispin Glover turns in an unusual
performance as a stud in training.
Friday the 13th: Part 5: A New Beginning
Having landed in a mental hospital after "killing" Jason in
The Final Chapter, an older Tommy (now played by John Shepard) is
released to a halfway house populated by the usual maladjusted
teens. Then, surprise, the grisly murders begin anew. Has the
homicidal hockey goalie returned from the dead, or is Tommy turning
into Jason himself? Juliette Cummins and Deborah Vorhees co-star,
with Dick Wieand appearing as Jason.
Friday the 13th: Part 6: Jason Lives
As a child, Tommy (Thom Mathews) killed Jason Voorhees, the
demented serial killer whose exploits landed many a corpse at the
bottom of Crystal Lake. Years later, Tommy is losing sleep over a
nagging question: Is Jason really dead? When Tommy and a friend
visit the cemetery to dig up the murderer's grave, they find a
well-rested Jason ready to spill blood again. Rocker Alice Cooper
sings the title tune, "He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)."
Friday the 13th: Part 7: The New Blood
The legendary horror series continues! After lying dormant at
the bottom of Crystal Lake, Jason is released from his watery grave
by Tina (Lar Park-Lincoln), a telekinetic teenager who returned to
the site where her father supposedly drowned in hopes of using her
psychic powers to solve the mystery of his death. But, with the
hockey-masked murderer on the loose, the killing spree begins
again. Can she control her powers enough to stop Jason?
Friday the 13th: Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan
The festivities aboard a Manhattan-bound boat full of high
school graduates are interrupted when stowaway Jason Voorhees
crashes the party. One of the teens in particular is terrified; she
believes she was almost drowned by Jason as a child. As Jason takes
over the boat, everyone's fears are realized: He wants to take over
Manhattan, too. How will the city be saved from the wrath of the
hockey-masked murderer?
Jason Goes to Hell
Jason Voorhees, the living, breathing essence of evil, is
back for one fierce, final fling. Since he was tracked down and
blown to bits by an FBI task force, everyone assumes he's finally
dead. But now, Jason has been reborn with the bone-chilling ability
to assume the identity of anyone he touches! In this shocking,
blood-soaked finale to Jason's legacy of terror, the horrible
secret of his unstoppable killing instinct is finally revealed.
Jason X
It's 2455 A.D., and Earth is a contaminated planet that's
been abandoned for centuries. In the remains of a research
facility, a visiting archaeology class discovers two frozen
ancestors -- a beautiful woman and a rotted corpse wearing a
strange mask. When they transport the carcasses back to their space
lab and the ice melts, Jason is revived ... and ready to unleash a
new kind of hell on the future.
Freddy vs. Jason
It's the showdown horror fans have been waiting for! This
slasher movie produced by Wes Craven and Sean S. Cunningham pits
two of cinema's biggest, freakiest, scariest ambassadors of evil --
the nightmarish Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) and the sinister
Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger) -- in the ultimate face-off. It's a
battle to die for -- literally! Co-stars Kelly Rowland, Jason
Ritter and Monica Keena.
Nightmare On Elm Street
Nancy (Heather Langencamp) is having grisly nightmares.
Meanwhile, her high-school friends, who are having the very same
dreams, are being slaughtered in their sleep by the hideous fiend
of their shared nightmares. When the police ignore her explanation,
she herself must confront the killer in his shadowy realm.
Featuring John Saxon (Enter The Dragon) and Johnny Depp in
his first starring role and mind-bending special effects, this
horror classic gave birth to one of the most infamous undead
villains in cinematic history... Freddy Krueger.
A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge
Five years have passed since Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund)
was sent howling back to hell. But now, a new kid on Elm Street is
being haunted every night by gruesome visions of the deadly dream
stalker. And if his twisted soul takes possession of the boy's
body, Freddy will return from the dead to wreak bloody murder and
mayhem upon the entire town.
A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
The last of the Elm Street kids are now at a psychiatric ward
where Freddy haunts their dreams with unspeakable horrors. Their
only hope is dream researcher and fellow survivor Nancy Thompson
who helps them battle the supernatural psycho on his own hellish
turf.
Starring Patricia Arquette and Academy Award - nominee
Laurence Fishburne and directed by Chuck Russell.
A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
As her friends succumb one by one to Freddy's wrath,
telepathically gifted Kristen embarks on a desperated mission to
destroy the santanic dream stalker and release the tortured souls
of his victims once and for all.
Directed by Renny Harlin and loaded with killer effects and
drop-dead humor, this is a "superior horror picture that balances
wit and gore with the imagination and intelligence".
A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child
Unable to overpower the Dream Master who vanquished him to A
Nightmare On Elm Street 4, Freddy haunts the innocent dreams of her
unborn child preys upon her friends with sheer horror. Will the
child be saved from becoming Freddy's newest weapon or will the
maniac again resurrect his legacy of evil?
For this eye-popping installment, director Stephen Hopkins
enlisted make-up wizard David Miller, original creator of Freddy's
hideous visage. The result: a face that not even a mother could
love, and terror beyond your wildest nightmares!
Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
Lisa Zane is a child psychologist tormented by recurring
nightmares. But not until she meets a new patient with the same
horrific dreams does her quest for answers lead to a certain house
on Elm Street - where an evil that defies the grave is about to be
unleashed upon the world.
With Yaphet Kotto (TV’s Homicide, Alien) and cameos by
Roseanne, Tom Arnold, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, this chapter in
the world’s most terrifying dream saga is a fantastic
voyage.
Wes Craven's New Nightmare
Winner of a Golden Scroll of Outstanding Achievement from the
Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror, this
spine-tingling tale reunites original Nightmare stars Robert
Englund, Heather Langenkamp and John Saxon as "reel" Freddy invades
the real world with deadly results.
Life imitated art during filming. Soon after shooting an
earthquake sequence, the "Northridge Quake" shook Los Angeles. Says
Craven, "We were aboutito have rubble created for the movie, but
instead, we were able to just go out and film from the streets."
But don't worry, Freddy fans. It's only a movie or is it?
Hellraiser (1987)
Clive Barker's directing debut follows the tale of a couple
(Andrew Robinson, Clare Higgins) who move into an old house and
discovers a hideous creature (Oliver Smith) -- the man's
half-brother (and his wife's former lover) -- hiding upstairs.
Having lost his earthly body to three demons, the man's been
brought back to life by a drop of blood on the floor. Soon, he's
forcing his former mistress to bring him human sacrifices to
complete his body.
Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988)
For Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Laurence), the nightmares never
end. Still fresh in her fevered memory are her father's skinned
corpse, the evil machinations of her uncle Frank's reanimated body
and the unspeakable perversity of the Cenobites. But the worst is
yet to come. From beyond the Outer Darkness, from the darkest
regions of the imagination comes Hellbound: Hellraiser II.
Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth (1992)
When J.P. (Kevin Bernhardt), a playboy club owner, buys a
mysterious-looking puzzle box and mistakes it for a work of art, he
has no idea that Pinhead, "the Black Pope of Hell" (Doug Bradley),
is trapped inside. Playing tricks on his captor's mind, Pinhead
tries his best to manipulate J.P. into breaking him out of his
prison -- that is, until an astute journalist (Terry Farrell)
begins to suspect something.
Hellraiser IV: Bloodline (2000)
Spanning four centuries, this petrifying Gothic thriller
recounts the anguished past of the L'Merchant clan, who unwittingly
fashioned the puzzle box that unlocked Hades' gates -- and
unleashed the monstrous Pinhead (Doug Bradley). As he and his band
of diabolical demons propagate evil on Earth, three generations of
L'Merchants (all portrayed by Bruce Ramsey) battle the legions of
darkness to annihilate Pinhead … permanently.
Hellraiser V: Inferno (2000)
After solving a creepy puzzle, unscrupulous Det. Joseph
Thorne (Craig Sheffer) finds himself trapped in hell with the
hair-raising ghoul Pinhead (Doug Bradley) and a murderer at large.
Thorne tries to outwit Pinhead and discover the killer's identity
in an effort to escape, but the trail keeps leading back to one
man: Thorne. As his transgressions begin to torment him, Thorne
learns the real meaning of the word
Hellraiser VI: Hellseeker (2002)
In this sixth installment of the gruesome Hellraiser series,
Pinhead (Doug Bradley) and his demonic legion return to Earth when
the puzzle box is once again solved. Pinhead is determined to
release hell on Earth once and for all, and he's willing to
demolish anyone who gets in his way. Kristy Cotton returns, and
it's up to her to kick Pinhead's butt and save Earth from the
ultimate evil.
Hellraiser VII: Deader (2004)
Amy Klein (Kari Wuhrer), a hard-nosed journalist working for
a London newspaper, is sent to Romania to research a mysterious
suicide cult with the ability to bring people back to life. Before
long, Amy finds herself pulled into the secret society and realizes
there's no way out unless she joins them for their next event. Will
she be able to free herself in time, or is she doomed to become an
unwilling member of their cult?
Hellraiser: Hellworld (2005)
In this eighth installment of Clive Barker's Hellraiser
franchise, a group of young Internet enthusiasts get sucked into a
video game and soon score an invite to an exclusive and mysterious
gathering, where the lines between cyberlife and reality are
blurred. But when the soiree starts, the computer whizzes realize
their host is none other than the maniacal Pinhead (Doug Bradley).
And unfortunately for them, he knows how to throw a killer
party.
