Subject-- The Buddha of Love
The Buddha of Love is named Cham Pa in Tibetan, and also called Maitreya. Maitreya, Bodhisattva currently residing in the Tushita heaven, the next Buddha to appear in the world. Maitreya Buddha is the Future Buddha who is expected to come to earth from Tushita Heaven. It is said that he will pass through the life of a Bodhisattva in the Tushita Heaven to prepare for his descent to earth in human form. He will come to earth a full 4000 years after disappearance of the Present Buddha (Shakyamuni) for the deliverance of all sentient beings. He is the only Bodhisattva who is worshipped both by the Hinayanists and Mahayamists. The venerable Maitreya was invested as the king of the gods in the Tushita heaven by the Victorious One himself and is the archetypal model for the Mahayana tradition of the paramita approach. In the future, following the period of the Sage's teachings, he will turn the wheel of the dharma in this world and demonstrate the deeds of a Buddha, opening the eyes of those to be guided to liberation and so forth. He has mastery over enlightened activity, such as ensuring that those who have faith in him will be the foremost of his retinue.
