Sally And Saint Anne

1952

Very Rare

DVD

Young Sally Moyne (Ann Blyth), a good-natured but awkward school-girl lives with her extended and eccentric Irish-American clan... she seldom makes a move in life without first consulting Saint Anne, patron saint of all young girls. Sally's faith in the efficacy of St. Anne has a salutary affect on all those in her orbit. It can also be said that Sally's tight relationship with her patron saint is of invaluable help in her family's efforts to save their home and hearth from the land-grabbing alderman Goldtooth McCarthy (John McIntyre).  The sublime supporting cast includes Frances ( "Aunt Bee" Bavier, Andy Griffith Show)  and Otto Hullett as Sally's parents, Edmund Gwenn as her supposedly invalid grandfather, and Jack Kelly and Lamont Johnson as her looney brothers and Hugh O'Brien, her other brother as the boxer in the family. One of the last of the "crazy family" comedies, Sally and St. Anne is also one of the best of its kind.

Good=acceptable quality for this vintage film which is extremely hard to find and has never been released commercially in any format, sound is somewhat low.  DVD in jewell case with label, no art. Great musical score by Frank Skinner.   Wonderful cast, it can't be beat.  Terrific family film.

This is NOT a commercial dvd.
