THE COVER

Here is the cover entitled "Fishing For Sailfish On The Gulf Stream, Florida" and on second page, the history of this famous painting and biographical information about the artist that you will want to add to your collection as saved from an old American Magazine.

LYNN BOGUE WEST

(1878-1960)

He was the artist who was perhaps the most widely known American Painter of game birds and fish, purely for the sportsman. "Mr. Hunt was early interested in nature, and as a child used to cut paper shilhouettes of birds. On leaving college, he joined the art staff of the Detroit Free Press, later moving to New York and engaging in commercial art. Among his most notable achievements are mural paintings in several Eastern hotels and country clubs. Chief among these, certainly in point of size. are the decorations for the Chesapeake Room of the Hotel Emerson, in Baltimore, where on 450 square feet of wall space are depicted the hunting and fishing resources of the famous Chesapeake Bay."

My wife kids me that after I find ads I like, buy them, read them, research ithem take pictures, scan , write the blurb, pay the Ebay entry fee and commission, that I end up making about 50 cents an hour. But, OH HOW I LOVE FINDING THIS OLD AMERICAN ANTIQUE COVER. Great Painting. You will love it as saved from this old American News magazine of 75 years ago.
