Why is my account suspended/restricted?

iOffer cancels or suspends account for various reasons including misuse of our system, suspicious and/or fraudulent activity or general abuse of our system.  Suspended accounts are researched by our Helpdesk team.  One or more of these things may cause an account to be suspended.

General misuse of our policies

• We require all users to place valid contact information on file. If we find that the contact information we have on file is inaccurate or your account has been logging in from an alternate location than you have on file this will lead to account suspension

• Repeated registration using alternate information after being suspended
• Abuse of other members 
• Acting as a buyer to make purchases of your own items to boost your ratings
  
• Repeatedly going around our system to circumvent fees or using features in ways that are not intended (ie: selling items in want ads)
• Using our system to spam other members or send unsolicited content
• Listing items in the incorrect category
• Abusing our Listing Policy

Reasons for an account to be restricted

• High unpaid balance - We require payment once your balance reaches a level we feel necessary to continue selling

• Shill Buying/Selling - We absolutely do not tolerate members acting as a buyer to buy your own items in attempts to boost their ratings.
  
• Dispute with another member - We require you to respond to all buyer disputes before you can continue to sell
• COPS Suspension - COPS members are responsible for disabling listings for potential copyright or trademark infringement. Find out more about our COPS system and reasons why they may have requested your account to be suspended
• Posting contact information - Posting any type of contact information in public areas of the site is cause for suspension and/or cancellation
• Spamming other members - Posting the same comment in response to Want Ads to multiple buyers, please send a customized message or better yet list an item to a Want Ad
  
• Unrated transactions - To ensure the highest level of security for buyers, we only allow a limited number of transactions to be unrated as a new, unrated seller. You must earn a reputable rating in order to continue selling
• Poor rating percentage - To maintain the integrity of our rating system your account will be restricted if you receive too many negative ratings or non-paying buyer marks in a given time frame
• Fee avoidance - Selling items off-site using contact information or selling items at a very low price is considered fee avoidance and will result in account restriction. In most cases our site attracted the buyer to your item and our systems were used to engage them, we feel it is only fair to earn a cut of the final sale price
• User location - There are certain areas of the world that unfortunately carry a "high fraud risk" associated to them and we do not allow them to use certain areas our site
• Opening too many accounts - Opening too many accounts without a legitimate reason (ex: sellers will often open several accounts if they sell multiple types of items, this is a legitimate reason; opening multiple accounts to purchase items from different sellers is not)
