Synopsis: The brownstone on New York's West 35th Street is brought to the small screen in this pilot for a proposed
series. Based on Stout's book, The Doorbell Rang (which is also known as "The Hoover Book"), the plot has Wolfe taking on nothing less than the FBI for the largest fee in his career.  The pilot sold, but the series was never produced due to the untimely death of the star playing Wolfe.  Thayer David, Tom Mason, Anne baxter, Brooke Adams, Biff McGuire, & John Randolf.  The TV movie was made in 1977 (released in 1979 as a stand-alone TvM), and runs approximately 100 minutes.

This disc was taken from an old VHS tape in a private collection.  It is above-average in quality, and is very
watchable.  See the sample images. The disc includes bonus extras of production notes and notes on Nero Wolfe series.
