Above Suspicion is a TV series based on Lynda La Plante's novels Above Suspicion and The Red Dahlia . It stars Kelly Reilly and Ciaran Hinds. It features the career of La Plante's latest heroine DC Anna Travis.

This three part series once again follows DC Anna Travis as she investigates the murder of young woman found on the banks of the River Thames. The murder is discovered to be a copycat of an unsolved murder in 1930's.The victim is Elizabeth Short a real murder in the 1940's. The young woman is found to be Louise Pennell, she has been brutally mutilated. Louise Pennal has been neatly sawn in two and her mouth has been cut from cheek to cheek. Louise's flatmate Sharon Bilkin is the person who identified Louise.
