New 4 Valve Echo Cornet. Jazz Cornet Specialty Cornet (Currently Not Available)

This is an offering for an unusual and rarely seen 4 valve Echo cornet. These unusual cornets are brand new and in good working condition. They have a few minor scratches and dings,which in no way effects the integrity of the instrument. They are reproductions of the Echo Cornets produced in the early 1900s. The "Echo" cornet was designed by Boosey & Co of England in the early 1900's with the specific intention of providing special effects to the cornettist in specialist brass bands and orchestras.

These echo cornets have 3 main valves and an additional side valve which gives these cornets an echo effect. This echo cornet has 4 movable slides and an adjustable/detachable bell for the 4th additional valve (see picture). It also has one water key.

The overall length of this cornet is 13 inches, the diameter of the horn is 4.5 inches, with the height being 6.5 inches and the width being 4.5 inches. The length of the detachable bell is 12 inches and the width of the detachable bell is 3 inches at its widest. The cornet comes complete with the shank and the mouthpiece.

This instrument is excellent for soloists, jazz bands and any musician who is interested in experimenting the echo effect.Also ideal for collectors of unusual horns. These echo cornets are modern day reproductions and not to be confused with the original professional quality echo cornets.

The manufacturer of this unusual and quality horn is Nadir Ali & Co of Meerut,India. They have been supplying quality brass instruments to the British Indian Army, the Indian Army and the Royal Nepal Army Since 1885. Nadir Ali & Co have at one time been the original equipment manufacturer to some of the better known and reputed brands worldwide.
